Answers to some FAQ on Canada Immigration

  • I cannot find my occupation on the list of eligible occupations for the federal skilled worker program.
Thre are other provincial options for which you may qualify.  Also, do not focus on your occupation name or job title only.  Pay more attention to the job description.  For a free prequalification assessment, click here.
  • How long do I need to be physically present in Canada?
To maintain permanent residency, you only need to be in Canada 2 years (730 days) out of any 5 year period. 
Note that if you are outside Canada working for a Canadian Company or if you are accompanying a spouse who is a Canadian, it would be treated as time spent in Canada.

  • When do I become eligible for Canadian Citizenship?
After 3 years.
